SC high school student stabbed after game

LEXINGTON, N.C. — (AP) A South Carolina high school student has been stabbed to death during a fight after a high school basketball game.

Lexington Police Lt. Matt Davis says police were called to a restaurant just before 10 p.m. Monday after the Lexington-Dutch Fork basketball game.

Davis says 17-year-old Davon Capers was stabbed during the fight and later died at a hospital.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide. No arrests have been made. Davis says the fight stemmed from the basketball game between the two schools.

Capers was a senior linebacker on Dutch Fork's state championship football team.
