Police arrest man accused of cutting off electronic monitor

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Police have arrested a man who they said cut off his electronic monitor.

James Ratliff was released from jail on bond in August and ordered to wear an electronic monitor. On Friday, he was involved in a felony domestic assault and fled the scene and cut off his electronic monitor, according to police.

Ratliff was wanted for outstanding warrants for interfering with an electronic monitoring device, common law robbery, fleeing to elude arrest and felony assault, police said.

He was located and arrested on Friday afternoon, police said.

Ratliff has previously been arrested on felony drug, burglary, assaults, robbery and kidnapping charges in Mecklenburg County.
