• Police: 1 dead in fatal Salisbury crash Tuesday morning


    SALISBURY, N.C. - Police say a deadly crash had Statesville Blvd. blocked in Salisbury Tuesday morning.

    The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near Highway 601.

    Police say two vehicles were involved.

    Salisbury police said a Toyota Corolla was traveling west at a high speed and hit a Toyota 4-Runner traveling in the opposite direction.

    The driver of the Corolla, Marcus Washington, 33, died.

    The other driver, Bobbie Garland, 29, was taken to Novant Health.

    Currently, there is no information on Garland’s injuries.

    The incident is still under investigation.
