• Police: Man arrested in death of Charlotte woman

    CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged a man with first-degree murder in the death of a Southeast Charlotte woman.

    Police arrested 18-year-old Kayie Shaune Wright Friday for the murder of 50-year-old Catherine Barca.

    Investigators said Wright robbed and killed Barca Thursday night at the Runaway Bay Apartments near Monroe Road. Barca was found dead in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

    Police charged Wright with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of motor vehicle.
