Police: Woman shoots man in chest, stomach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is in the hospital suffering life threatening injuries after a woman shot him in east Charlotte, officials say.

Officers said when they arrived at Linda Lake Drive Sunday morning, a man told them he had been shot by a woman and had to take the gun away from her.

Police said the woman shot him twice, once in the chest and once in the stomach. They said he held the woman down until MEDIC and officers arrived.

The man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
