• Favorable weather ahead of looming Monday storms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A cold front will push through Friday night and that has brought us clouds and windy conditions Friday afternoon.

The chance for severe weather looks minimal, though gusty winds will accompany any of the showers.

The weekend looks good in the meantime, as the area gets sandwiched between the cold front and a large Gulf storm that is expected to move through Monday.

Temperatures won’t be as warm, but Saturday looks like the prettier day, as clouds return Sunday.

Rain will move in Sunday evening, probably not long after sunset.

On Monday, there is the chance for some afternoon storms and Channel 9 will be monitoring any severe weather threats.

Drier conditions are expected for most of next week with near-average temperatures.
