Rain to end tonight, chilly temps coming

CHARLOTTE — Cold temperatures are headed to the Charlotte area. The rain will be clearing out hour by hour, and by 6 p.m. the weather should be rain free. The cold air will move in after 11 p.m., creating lows in the upper 20s Monday morning.

The skies will be clear on Monday, but temperatures will only get a few degrees above 50. The normal temperature for this time of year is in the mid 60s.

A strong coastal storm will develop Monday night into Tuesday. This storm will make headlines to the north and east of us. However, temperatures will be cold enough for a few snowflakes to mix in with rain early Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon will just be rain.

After the storm moves through our area will slowly begin to warm up again, reaching the 70s by the weekend.
