Afternoon storms expected to roll in Friday

Some storms Thursday night could be on the stronger side. The biggest concerns include heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds, while some showers could stick around over the mountains.
 
The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies overnight with lows in the mid-60s.
 
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday morning with temperatures around 65 degrees.
 
Conditions in the afternoon will be hot and muggy, with highs near 86 degrees.
 
Scattered showers and storms, some strong, are forecast to fire up by the afternoon.
 
Rain chances will decrease for the weekend, allowing temperatures to heat up.
 
Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s with a small chance of afternoon storms. Some could be severe.
