A spokeswoman for the Berkeley County School District, Katie Orvin Tanner, announced last week that Tierra Walker no longer works for the district.

Surveillance video from this month shows the boy dragged to the edge of the classroom, his backpack thrown into the hall and a leg kicking him out of the doorway.

The boy's mother, Taneisha Johnson, told police that she wanted to press charges against Walker for assaulting her son.

Maj. John Grainger of the Goose Creek Police Department said the assault took place because the boy reportedly refused to leave the room after getting in trouble for not listening and making animal noises. Grainger said classmates reported Walker dumped the boy out of his chair before dragging him out of the room.

Police say no charges will be filed.
