ST. MATTHEWS, S.C. (AP) - A 40-year-old woman who said she killed her boyfriend as she slept in their South Carolina home has been sentenced to five years of home confinement.

The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg reports that Christina Weaver pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter. She was originally charged with murder.

Calhoun County deputies said Weaver shot 54-year-old Mitchell Taylor on November 2015 and authorities had to force their way into their home before finding Taylor's body in bed.

Authorities say Taylor was dead for three days before his body was found and Weaver says she had argued with her boyfriend.

Circuit Judge Ed Dickson sentenced Weaver to five years of home confinement, giving her credit for the two years she spent in the Orangeburg County jail after her arrest.
