Storms expected in area as warm temps return

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte warmed up to the mid 80s Tuesday afternoon, and clouds rolled into the area.

A few showers pushed south of Interstate 40, but those showers will move south.

Temperatures in the Charlotte area Wednesday will be near 90 degrees. There may be showers and storms overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning as a cold front settles into the area. There is some severe risk, but if the majority of the weather comes overnight it will keep this threat minimal.

There is a chance of late day thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, but other than that the weekend weather should be pleasant.
