Storms Saturday, 80 degrees next week

CHARLOTTE — Channel 9's Severe Weather Center is tracking a threat for storms late Saturday afternoon into the evening. These storms will produce heavy rain and strong winds. There will not be many of these storms, but those that hit could be strong or severe.

Storms will slowly move out of the area by 10 p.m. After they depart, the wind will stay.

Sunday's forecast will be sunny but windy. Winds will be at least 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts over 25 mph. Highs will be in the 60s.

A major warm-up will kick in after Sunday. Charlotte will reach the 80s for the first time this year by Wednesday.
