Traffic Team 9 has updated this guide based on security changes announced after President Obama's speech was moved from Bank of America Stadium to Time Warner Cable Arena.

Almost 20 streets in and around Uptown Charlotte will be closed for the Democratic National Convention, which takes place September 4th thru 6th.  Some roads will also be closed in Ballantyne.  There are several different schedules for when streets will close and reopen, but in a nutshell, most Uptown streets between College St. and I-227/John Belk Freeway will be closed from Sunday through Friday morning.  In addition, several exit ramps along John Belk Freeway/I-277 will be closed.

Listed below are the streets, highways, and exit ramps that will be impacted.  Click on each street for details and specific alternate routes.

Additional road closures are likely due to parades and protests.
