A 15-year-old girl from Deltona, Florida and her 11-month-old daughter have been missing for more than a week, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said they believe Diana Rodriguez ran away from home, taking her 11-month-old daughter Daniela with her.

"The family of Diana Rodriguez discovered her and her daughter Daniela missing from their home on Normandy Boulevard, Deltona, last Monday (Sept. 30), before school," a news release said.

Deputies said Rodriguez left through her bedroom window, and that her family believes she ran away because her cellphone was taken away.

Rodriguez's brother, Amador Rodriguez Jr., said he went to knock on his sister's door on Sept. 30 to wake her up for school, but discovered that she and her baby were gone. He said she thinks she had help because the window had been boarded up because of the hurricane and she does not have a car.

Investigators said they found a note in her room saying she found someone who loves her and her baby, but that she knows the family will not accept their relationship. Family members believe the man she may be with is 19 and lives in the Sanford area.

Family members said the teen is communicating with friends but not with her family or investigators.

"She says she is all right, but she doesn't want to be found," her brother said.

"Sheriff's deputies have been working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to locate Diana and Daniela and ensure their safety and well-being," the release said.

Rodriguez is between 4 feet, 10 inches and 5 feet tall, weighing about 120 pounds.
