Family texts wrong number about birth of baby, strangers show up to hospital with gifts

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A hilarious text mix-up about a newborn led to a sweet moment between strangers.

A woman who intended to text family members about the birth of her baby, accidentally texted a complete stranger.

Deorick Williams posted the interaction on his Facebook page and it’s quickly gone viral.

Williams’ number was included in a group text from the woman that read, “We are at the hospital. Having a baby today! She has dilated to between 5-6.”

Williams congratulated the family and told them they had the wrong number, but the texts kept coming.

Williams received a photo of the newborn captioned “7 lbs. 11 oz.”

Instead of just ignoring the texts, Williams responded, “Well I don’t know y’all but me and the boys will be thru to take (a) picture with the baby.”

And Williams came through on the promise. He and his brother showed up at the hospital to see the family and baby, and they even brought gifts with them.

“What a blessing these two guys were to our family. They were so sweet and kind to do this. You 2 are great guys and thank you for giving to someone you didn’t know,” the woman posted on Facebook.

She ended her post by saying, “If we all only had this kind of heart.”
