Exceptions to the law apply, however.

KTNV reported that the law does not apply to those applying to a job that requires them to operate a motor vehicle and submit to screening tests by federal law, as well as positions like a firefighter or emergency medical technician. The exception also applies to positions that employers determine could impact the safety of others.

The law ill be in effect in January 2020.
