JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A small aircraft crashed into the St. Johns River on Sunday afternoon near Dames Point in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said a small, single-prop amphibious aircraft went down.
The pilot was the only person on the plane, fire officials said.

A kayaker pulled the pilot to shore, officials said. There were no injuries.
Crews have responded to the 6800 block of Howalt ct to an aircraft down and in the water ....one sole on board is on the shore and ok...the aircraft was a single prop amphibious plane....and a kayaker pulled him to shore with no injuries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating.
