Rapper Jeezy treats family of 16 displaced by fire to Thanksgiving dinner

MARIETTA, Ga. — Atlanta-based rapper Jay Wayne Jenkins, better known by his stage name Jeezy, stepped in to help one Marietta family have Thanksgiving after it lost its home to a fire.

Sixteen members of the Natt family were displaced Nov. 19 after a fire tore through their home in Marietta. The fire broke out days after parents Victoria Natt and Tavares Natt brought home a baby girl, their 14th child.

Jeezy treated the Natt family to Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. Victoria Natt said she felt overwhelmed when the rapper showed up to her mother-in-law's Marietta home.

"I didn't believe it," Victoria Natt said. "I still can't believe it."

Victoria Natt and her family woke up to an inferno around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. She had just left the hospital, days after delivering her youngest child. Her husband ran back into the burning house to rescue the days-old girl.

"I'm very grateful to have all my kids with me. Because I don't know what I'd do without them," she said.

Jeezy served dinner to the young children. He had the meal catered and also had an announcement to make for their mom.

"We're going to take care of your hotel bill to the top of the year," he told Victoria Natt, who was in disbelief.

He told WSB-TV's Rikki Klaus that it's all about giving back and "being a part of the community."

"We're all we got," he said. "So, we're consistently looking out for each other. That's what Atlanta's all about."

Victoria Natt said she and her family are still in a hotel until they can find a new place to rent.

"We're going day-by-day until we find something," she said.
