Video: Car crashes into makeup salon, driver killed

MABLETON, Ga. — A two-vehicle crash sent a car into a makeup salon in Mableton, Georgia, on Sunday evening, killing one man and seriously injuring another.

Officials with the Cobb County Police Department said a red Mitsubishi Lancer was flipped on its roof inside Eye Am Beauty makeup salon when they arrived on the scene just after 5 p.m.

Police said the vehicle collided with a gray Dodge Journey during a lane change near an intersection before it crashed.

Surveillance video obtained by WSB showed the Lancer slide toward the salon and smash through the storefront, sending glass and building debris flying. The salon was empty at the time.

The driver of the Lancer, 22-year-old Raymun Valdovinos, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, died at the scene. The passenger, 39-year-old Luis Hernandez, also of Lithia Springs, was taken an Atlanta hospital with serious injuries, police confirmed.

The driver of the Journey, 42-year-old Teri Gregory, of Attalla, Alabama, had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital near the scene of the crash.
