The warrant was issued in connection to a domestic violence incident, for a victim who shares multiple children with Brown, WFLA reported. The incident allegedly happened on Nov. 28, when Brown is accused of throwing a shoe at the victim.

The charge Brown faces is a misdemeanor, not a felony, NBC Sports reported.

Officers with the Tampa Police Department spent more than an hour trying to get Brown to come out of his house on Thursday, WFTS reported. The station’s crew saw police officers using a megaphone to inform Brown that officers had spoken with his attorney and asked him to come out of the house.

Brown previously pleaded no contest and was ordered to pay $1.2 million to a moving truck driver in Florida after he was charged with assaulting the driver, ESPN reported.

Brown was one of two players suspended by the NFL in December 2021 for violations of COVID-19 protocols, after a report accused Brown of obtaining a fake vaccination card, WTSP reported.

Brown was a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010-2019, the New England Patriots from 2019-2020 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2020-2021, ESPN reported.

Brown was terminated by the Bucs in January 2021 after an incident where he stripped off his jersey and shoulder pads on the field during a game, WTSP reported.
