Motorworks Brewing is lending a helping hand to Shelter Manatee by featuring animals who were available for adoption on cans of its Kölsch beer with part of the proceeds going to the shelter, the newspaper reported.

The animal rescue is raising money to build a new shelter after the county leaders approved $8 million to pay for the building. The shelter needs another $2 million to complete the project. The brewery is helping raise the remaining funds, WFLA reported.

Each month, the brewery sponsors a “Yappy Hour” that raises money for animal charities in the area. That’s where the idea came from to help Shelter Manatee, WFLA reported.

The good news is two of the four dogs featured have already been adopted, the television station reported.
