The state of Georgia has reported 97,064 cases and 2,878 deaths as of 3 p.m. Monday, representing an increase of 1,548 new cases and 18 deaths since Sunday, the TV station reported.
Bottoms has stressed throughout the pandemic the importance of getting tested and wearing masks.
The city of Atlanta has not made it mandatory to wear a mask in public, but Bottoms strongly encourages it.
I am a realist, not an alarmist. The real data shows that COVID-19 cases are rising at an alarming number. It is simple, wear a mask. #OneAtlanta #ATLStrong pic.twitter.com/FdsVr2dU61
