Coronavirus: Bono pens first new song since 2017, honors quarantined Italians

It’s been three years since Bono has written a new song, but the singer/songwriter has written music inspired by Italians who are quarantined because of the COVID-19, or new coronavirus, pandemic.

It’s called “Let Your Love Be Known.” Bono posted the song to the U2 Instagram account with the caption, “For the Italians who inspired it... for the Irish... for ANYONE who this St Patrick’s Day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, carers on the front line, it’s you we’re singing to,” The Guardian reported.

Italy has more a death toll of more than 2,500 and the country is on lockdown. But despite the social distancing and quarantine, they are still reaching out to their neighbors by singing from their windows or their balconies, “Good Morning America” reported.
