DALLAS — Officials at the Dallas Museum of Art on Sunday said the museum was forced to close Sunday after receiving a threat.
The museum posted a notice to potential visitors on social media to stay away from the facility “until further notice.”
A spokesperson with the museum told WFAA-TV that the museum received a threat against the building and garage.

The spokesperson said the Dallas Police Department has been alerted, according to the television station.
“We currently have the building and garage closed until we can be certain our patrons, staff and community are safe,” the spokesperson told the television station.
Museum officials and the police department did not release any other information.
