In a notice published Wednesday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, officials said the affected chain saws may also turn on when they’re plugged in. Officials identified the recalled tools as DeWalt DWCS700 Type 1 18-inch, 15-amp corded chain saws with date codes 2021 23-H5 to 2021 40-H5.

The chain saws were sold from June 2021 through November 2021 for between $130 and $150. The yellow tools have black handles and motor covers, and date codes stamped on the bottom behind the chain or bar. “DeWalt” and “18-in.” are printed on the blade.
