Warner Bros. has announced that the latest in the “Fantastic Beasts” series will be called, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” and the film will be in theaters on April 15, Easter weekend, Deadline reported. It will not appear on HBO Max on the same date, Deadline reported.

It was originally set to premiere on July 15, but its release was moved up, Variety reported.

“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” was directed by David Yates and will once again focus on magizoologist Newt Scamander, portrayed by Eddie Redmayne as a friend and compatriot of Dumbledore, played by Jude Law.

Mads Mikkelsen is replacing Johnny Depp in the role of Gellert Grindelwald after Warner Bros. asked Depp to resign from the role after he lost a libel case against the tabloid The Sun. The paper called Depp a “wife-beater” in a 2018 article, Variety reported.

“There has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I’m going to do,” Mikkelsen told Entertainment Weekly last year. “At the same time, I also have to make it my own.”

Rounding out the cast are Katherine Waterson, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler and Jessica Williams.

In addition to the announcement, Warner Bros. teamed up with Watch Mojo to take a look at the origins of Albus Dumbledore to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
