Joshua Yakov Gaukhman, 24, of Nokomis, is accused of speeding through a crash site at more than 100 mph, then telling deputies he “had business to do” and was “going to the Ritz-Carlton,” authorities said.

Gaukhman faces six counts of aggravated assault, along with initial charges of possession of cocaine, drug equipment possession and/or use, and DUI, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.

According to an arrest report, Gaukhman was pulled over late Sunday in Sarasota after he was clocked doing more than 100 mph in a 45 mph zone, WWSB reported. Deputies said they were on the scene of a “serious crash” that had knocked down a power line when Gaukhman drove by in a BMW, the television station reported.

When deputies stopped Gaukhman, they reported that a “baggie of white powder was in plain view on the center console,” the Venice Gondolier reported. The substance later tested positive for cocaine, deputies said.

The report states that Gaukhman told authorities said he was leaving his house and going to the Ritz-Carlton.

“I have business to do,” Gaukhman allegedly said.

According to the arrest report, Gaukhman was wearing “an undershirt, boxer-briefs and one sock.”

Deputies said Gaukhman was in the back of a patrol car and began making sexually suggestive noises at a deputy and responding sarcastically while being read his rights, WBBH reported.

After being read his rights, Gaukhman was asked if he understood them and remained quiet for 17 seconds, the Gondolier reported.

“I asked him again if he understood his rights and asked him if he had any questions about his rights,” a deputy wrote in the probable cause affidavit. “The defendant, in a highly sarcastic tone of voice, stated ‘I thought you wanted me to remain silent.’”

Gaukhman also said he wanted to speak with a female deputy and began “groaning and grunting ‘yeah’ while staring” at the male deputy, WWSB reported. He then said he would talk to the officer “for now.”

Gaukhman will be arraigned on April 9, the Gondolier reported. He remains in the Sarasota County Jail.
