WEST YORKSHIRE, U.K. — A Lamborghini worth upward of $300,000 was reduced to a mangled wreck Wednesday within 20 minutes of leaving the dealership.
The owner of the exotic sports car took it for a drive on a West Yorkshire highway when it stopped working due to an unspecified mechanical failure and was rear ended by a van.
Traffic investigators empathized, posting images of the wrecked super car with the hashtag “could have cried.” “It’s only a car,” West Yorkshire police said on social media. “But on this occasion a 20-minute old brand new Lamborghini that stopped due (to) mechanical failure in lane 3 (then) hit from behind by an innocent motorist.”

The driver of the van suffered non-serious head injuries, the BBC reported.
Based on images, the car is believed to be a Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder, which retails brand new for more than $308,000, Carbuzz reported.
