Man kidnaps 13-year-old from Walmart, charged with rape

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 13-year-old Tennessee girl who was reported missing has been found after being abducted from a Walmart store.

The minor was located Monday at an apartment belonging to a 28-year-old man named Orlin Funez-Flores, WKRN reported.

The girl told police she had been kidnapped and raped by a group of people that she did not know, but she was able to escape and call Funez-Flores, whom she identified as a friend.

During the investigation, Funez-Flores admitted to “picking the juvenile up” a few weeks earlier at a Walmart in Nashville, detectives said.

He told police he took the child to his apartment and raped her.

It’s unclear if the girl had ever been kidnapped by another group.

Funez-Flores was arrested Monday night and charged with aggravated statutory rape.

He was also charged with domestic assault for an unrelated situation, WKRN reported.

Funez is in custody at Nashville Metro Jail with bond set at $30,000.
