A school security guard at a kindergarten in southern China injured at least 39 people in a knife attack Thursday morning, state media reported. The motive for the attack is unknown, The Associated Press reported.
Government officials in the Guangxi region’s Cangwu county said 37 students and two adults were injured, according to the AP. State officials said the injuries suffered were in varying degrees. The conditions of the wounded were not immediately revealed.
The guard was detained, according to Chinese state media.
