NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A South Carolina mother is behind bars after authorities said they found a meth pipe in her toddler son’s pants.
According to WCIV-TV, North Charleston police arrested Lucia Cash, 35, of Goose Creek, early Wednesday on a cruelty to children charge after a traffic stop. While searching the vehicle, authorities discovered drug paraphernalia and what appeared to be methamphetamine, police said. Officers also found a meth pipe in the pants of Cash’s 3-year-old son, who had been sitting in an unsecured car seat, police said.
A passenger, Samantha Ann Priegue, 25, also was arrested on a methamphetamine possession charge, authorities said.
Both Cash and Priegue have been released on bond, WCIV reported. A family member is taking care of the toddler, police said.
