Super Bowl 2022: NFL offering 50 free tickets to select vaccinated fans

In a bid to encourage Americans to get their COVID-19 vaccines, the National Football League announced Wednesday it will provide 50 free Super Bowl LVI tickets to select fans who share their vaccination journey stories.

Details on how to win the Super Bowl tickets will be announced Saturday night during “Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World,” a global event uniting artists, entertainers and world leaders to support vaccine equity.

The show, slated to air from Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium where Super Bowl LVI will be played in February 2022, will broadcast nationally beginning at 8 p.m. EDT across multiple platforms.

According to NFL.com, the league has worked closely with Global Citizen as well as the White House COVID-19 Response Team to design the promotion that offers fans who share their story on why they got – or plan to get – vaccinated against the coronavirus a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Big Game.

Since January, more than three million COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered at NFL stadiums and facilities nationwide, the outlet reported.

Hosted by multiplatinum recording artist, actress and producer Selena Gomez, the “VAX LIVE” broadcast will feature musical performances by Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin and H.E.R. Meanwhile, special guests from around the world are slated to speak throughout the program about the importance of vaccine equity, including Ben Affleck, Chrissy Teigen, David Letterman, Gayle King, Jimmy Kimmel, Nomzamo Mbatha, Olivia Munn, and Sean Penn.

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are serving as the “VAX LIVE” campaign chairs.
