Texas woman shot by another customer after setting gaming machine on fire

HOUSTON — A woman who became frustrated with a gaming machine in a Houston convenience store poured lighter fluid on it and set it on fire. Another customer playing became angry and shot the woman after an argument, authorities said.

According to Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson, two women were using a gaming machine at the convenience store when one person became angry because she was losing, KPRC reported. She poured lighter fluid on the machine and set it aflame, according to the television station.

When the machine caught fire, the second woman became angry because she could no longer play, KTRK reported. According to police, the two women went to the parking lot and began arguing, and the woman who started the fire was shot, according to the television station.

The injured woman was hospitalized in stable condition, according to the Star-Telegram of Fort Worth.

Investigators said the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, KPRC reported. No arrests have been made, police said.

While the relationship between the women is unclear, police said they knew each other, according to KTRK.
