The popular online video conferencing service used for school and work during the pandemic is reportedly down for users all over the world.
According to Downdetector.com, partial outages on Zoom started Monday morning. A large number of users reported issues in the Eastern United States and it’s not clear if the problem is widespread.
The company acknowledged the issue in a statement:

“We have identified the issue causing users to be unable to authenticate to the Zoom website (zoom.us) and unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars, and we are working on a fix for this issue.”

Grade schools, high schools and universities are relying on Zoom and competing technologies like Microsoft Teams to reduce the chance of infection during the pandemic.
Zoom Video Communications became a familiar tool to millions of new users after the spread of COVID-19 made face-to-face meetings risky. It now has about 300 million users.
It suffered some growing pains during the early months of the pandemic, such as " zoombombers " who crashed meetings, but successfully went public in April.
