• UNC students call for increased campus security

CHAPEL HILL - University of North Carolina Chapel Hill students are calling for increased security on campus after three dangerous incidents last week.

Police say a man threatened students with a knife, and a homeless man was accused of trying to abduct a student.

On Saturday, authorities say a student broke into a dorm room.

“One of the things I would like to see is a better Alert Carolina System. Because I know when I heard about the incident I was in my dorm, but I actually found out about it from Facebook before I did the school,” said student Anna L’Hommedieu.

Students say they called 911 to report the man with the knife, but it took officers 20 minutes to show up.
