US National Guard members help stranded ambulance with patient aboard

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Members of the U.S. National Guard helped free a stranded ambulance and a fire truck that was responding to the scene in west Charlotte.

An ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital when it became stuck in the snow on Spruce Street.

A fire truck responded to assist and also got stuck in the snow.  The fire truck had chains on the back of the tires.

A National Guard Humvee transported the patient to a waiting ambulance.

Another National Guard Humvee then pulled the ambulance and the fire truck out of the snow.
