None — WAXN-TV WATCH AND WIN CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES February 8, 2010 - February 12, 2010               Residents of North or South Carolina who are 18 years of age or older who are not employees, agents or affiliated with WSOC-TV, WAXN-TV, their parent or affiliated companies or employees, agents or affiliates of other Charlotte, NC Market Area television stations and have not previously won any prizes from contests sponsored by WSOC-TV, WAXN-TV or WSOCTV.COM during the previous twelve (12) months are eligible to enter the contest. To enter, simply watch Action News at 10:00 weeknights (Monday through Friday) beginning on Monday, February 8, 2010 and continuing through Friday, February 12, 2010. At some point during each of the above five (5) programs WAXN-TV will announce that it is time to play by calling the telephone number displayed on the screen.   If you are the tenth (10th) caller to reach the WAXN-TV operator at the contest response telephone number, you will be eligible to win one-thousand dollars ($1,000.00.) One such eligible winner will be so selected on each of the five (5) days of the contest making the total retail value of the prizes available to win of $5,000.00.              No purchase or other consideration is necessary to enter or win either of the prizes to be awarded during the contest. Only one prize may be won by any contestant during the contest and only one person per household is allowed to become a winner during the contest.    In the event that no eligible winner is selected on any given day, there will be no eligible winner for that day and that day's prize will not be awarded. Any act on the part of contestants which is designed or intended to enhance their chances of becoming an eligible winner of the contest or otherwise tampers with the contact shall disqualify them. WAXN-TV shall be the sole judge of households and disqualification of contestants and its decision shall be final.   WAXN-TV is not responsible for television broadcast, telephone or computer connections, malfunctions, or service.   WAXN-TV reserves the right in its discretion to terminate, modify or suspend this contest in order to maintain its fairness and integrity. None of the prizes are transferable and no substitution of prize or winners is permitted. All taxes and other expenses in connection with the use of the prizes are the responsibility of the prize winners. This contest is void where prohibited, taxed or licensed by law. The odds of winning either of the contest prizes is dependent upon the number of people viewing WAXN-TV at the time of the announcement to call and who attempt to call the contest number at the appointed time.              In order to qualify to receive their prizes, each eligible daily prize winner must come to the studios of WAXN-TV located at 1901 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC by no later than 4:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24th, 2010, and show their eligibility and receive their prize. Such eligible prize winners must also sign a contest acknowledgment and release and shall consent to the use of his or her name, voice, likeness and picture in general advertising, public relations and promotional purposes for WAXN-TV without compensation. In the event that any of the qualified eligible winners do not come to the WAXN-TV studios, qualify and sign the contest acknowledgment and release or are otherwise disqualified, their prize will not be awarded and shall remain the property of WAXN-TV. Names of the contest winners are available by sending a self-addressed and stamped envelope to WAXN-TV after May 21, 2010.
