Weekend festivities planned in uptown for ACC football championship game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Uptown will be filled with fans this weekend ahead of the ACC football championship game.

The game, which kicks off at 8 p.m. Saturday at Bank of America Stadium, marks the third year the event has been held in North Carolina, following five years in Florida.

Several events are planned for Friday, including the ACC Night of Legends, which is a ticketed event, and the ACC Football Fan Central, which is a free celebration for fans at the EpiCentre.

Saturday’s festivities start at 8 a.m. in uptown with the ACC Championship Chase 5K, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. The ACC Fanfest runs from noon to 7 p.m. and includes live music, games, food and entertainment. Little Big Town and Lee Brice will give free concerts.
