• Whistleblower 9: Students say they were misled by a local college

    Updated:

None - Several students who enrolled at Kaplan College’s Charlotte location in the Dental Assistant program claim they were misled. Fifteen Whistleblowers came to Channel 9 with claims that the Kaplan College in Charlotte misrepresented the classification students would receive after completing the one year dental assistant program that cost nearly $20,000. Students were repeatedly told by advisors at the Kaplan College Charlotte location that after they completed the course they would be classified as a Dental Assistant II; however, Kaplan College’s Charlotte location is not accredited to offer that classification.

Channel 9's Jim Bradley took the investigation to North Carolina state regulators and the Attorney General and now there are two investigations into what the Kaplan College Charlotte location has been doing. It’s a major Whistleblower 9 investigation, Tonight at 6pm on Channel 9 Eyewitness News.
