CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Backus is as tough a competitor on the court as you can find.
The game she plays is not easy, but it is important to Carolina.
She was born premature and with cerebral palsy.
By day, she is a junior at Independence High School in east Charlotte.
But after hours, she is a Rollin' Hornet, the league that offers adaptive sports for both children and adults who've faced similar physical challenges.
Watch the video above as Channel 9's DaShawn Brown sits down with Backus to discuss how she overcame the challenges she's faced and how she finds comfort in her teammates on the court.
