KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Cox Mill stopped a long losing streak to A.L. Brown with a 21-13 victory in Kannapolis Friday night in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week.
Cox Mill (6-2) stormed out to a 14-0 lead by halftime and then led 21-6 after three quarters.
The Chargers are led by Big 22 Player to Watch Terrell Dawkins, a 6-foot-4 senior linebacker.
The Chargers have won five of their past six games. Their defense hasn’t yielded more than 7 points in five of six victories.
A.L. Brown (4-4) suffered its first loss at home.
The Wonders lost last week, 33-30, at Central Cabarrus, snapping their two-game win streak.
A.L. Brown won last year’s meeting against Cox Mill, 21-7. The Wonders won the previous matchup, 38-34, in 2012.
