    Paul Boyd has been with WSOC-TV Charlotte as an anchor and reporter since March 2015.

    He currently reports on “Eyewitness News Daybreak” weekday mornings and co-anchors “Eyewitness News Midday” weekdays at noon.

    Paul is an Emmy award nominated journalist. His work has also been recognized by the Associated Press and with a National Headliner Award.

    Paul has covered many significant national and international news stories over the past two decades and spent 13 seasons as a correspondent and weekend anchor for the award-winning newsmagazine "Inside Edition."

    He reported from Ground Zero the day of the 9/11 attacks in New York City. He went on to investigate the terrorism trail from Florida to Afghanistan and to Pakistan where he documented the hunt for Osama bin Laden in early 2002.

    Paul spent three months covering the invasion of Iraq in 2003. One of his investigations made headlines around the world when he uncovered handwritten messages from Saddam Hussein in an abandoned Iraqi government office building.

    Paul has also been dispatched to the scene of major breaking news stories over the years including; the Boston Marathon bombings, the Sandy Hook School shooting, the Fort Hood shootings, the Virginia Tech massacre, Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Katrina, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and the devastating crash of American Airlines Flight 587 in Queens, New York.

    He has reported from the campaign trail and national political conventions of every U.S. presidential election since 2004. Paul interviewed President Obama in 2012, and also conducted one-on-one interviews with 2016 presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

    Paul graduated with honors from the journalism program at Mount Royal University in Canada and became a United States citizen in 2010 while living in New York City.

    Paul and his family live in Charlotte. He actively volunteers with his children’s youth sports programs and serves as president of the Pineville Community Athletic Association.

    Paul enjoys playing racquetball and golf. He’s also an avid fan of the Panthers, Hornets, Knights and Checkers!
