• Charlotte Pride festival, parade street closures


    The Charlotte Pride Festival will be held from 12 to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 12  to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

    Event organizers said they expect 125,000 attendees.

    The streets closures will be as follows: 

    Tryon Street from Levine Avenue of the Arts to Trade Street will close Friday at 9:30 a.m. All cross streets will remain open.

    Tryon Street between Stonewall and Trade Street will be closed Saturday at 6 a.m. All cross streets including Levine Avenue of the Arts, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, 3rd and 4th streets will be closed.

    All streets will reopen on Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

    The Charlotte Pride Parade will begin Sunday at 1 p.m. at 9th Street and Tryon Street.

    The parade turns east on Trade Street and disperses on College Street.

    Staging for the parade will close Tryon Street between 9th and 11th Streets and the cross streets between Church Street and College Street at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
