Northern Mecklenburg County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... * Until 1115 PM EDT. * At 909 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have fallen since 800 PM. The main impact will be flooding due to poor drainage in urban areas of Davidson and Cornelius. Small streams and other drainages will also rise rapidly in response to the heavy rainfall. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Turn around, dont drown.
