Although widespread snow showers should taper off early this afternoon, some locations will continue to experience passing bands of wind blown snow through around 2 PM. These snow showers may drop another quick inch of snow in spots especially across the western higher elevations from Watauga County North Carolina north into parts of southeast West Virginia. The snow showers should finally taper to flurries by mid afternoon. Motorists should remain alert for snow covered roads along with reductions in visibility this afternoon. $$
