FRIDAY: Conditions will begin to heat up a little more Friday, but the real heat is holding off until this weekend.
Highs Friday warm to the mid-to-upper 80s, with the humidity just slowly increasing.
By Saturday though, temps will jump into the lower 90s, with more steam building up.
STEAMY WEEKEND: Heat index values may make it feel a few degrees hotter as each afternoon should dry up a tad.
This will also keep storm chances at bay for most neighborhoods -- only a small chance exists for the High Country and areas far south of Charlotte.
Sunday will be the hottest day of the weekend, with high in the mid-90s (actually within a couple of degrees of a record).
CODE ORANGE: Charlotte is under a Code Orange air quality alert Friday, as more heat builds in leading to higher ozone levels.
STORM CHANCES: Storm chances stay slim-to-none this weekend, with just the mountains seeing a small shot.
Our next chance for rain doesn’t arrive until Tuesday of next week.
