FORECAST: Humidity remains low ahead of muggy, hot weekend

FRIDAY NIGHT: Enjoy a very quiet, comfortable night ahead as temperatures steadily drop into the low 70s by midnight. Overnight lows will reach the middle 60s under a mainly clear sky to start the day on Saturday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW: Conditions will stay quiet for the upcoming weekend, with mostly sunny conditions expected Saturday and Sunday. Highs will continue to increase as humidity returns, with temperatures maxing out in the lower 90s.

Adding in the humidity, heat index values will soar into the middle-to-lower 90s by Sunday afternoon.

Charlotte has not recorded a 90 degree day so far this year. The average first 90 degree day is May 20. The latest first 90 degree day on record is July 8, 2003.

LOOKING AHEAD: An early preview of the upcoming work week shows temperatures staying well above average. Upper 80s and lower 90s can be expected for Monday through Thursday as rain chances return by midweek.
