CHINA GROVE, N.C. — The 3-year-old who lost portions of her leg and foot in a lawnmower accident is expected to have surgery Saturday, said her family.
Emma Vernadoe, 3, was last listed in critical condition at Levine Children's Hospital.
The accident happened outside her grandparent's home in China Grove Thursday afternoon.
The child's grandmother told Channel 9 the little girl ran over to her grandfather, who was mowing the lawn when the accident happened.
The grandmother said the little girl lost her left leg below the knee and part of her right foot in the accident.
