Camp Lejeune Marine killed in Afghanistan on first tour of duty

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — A Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune is one of the latest casualties in the war in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Dale Means was killed by an improvised explosive device.

Means' sister told the Associated Press that he was on his first tour of duty and had just deployed in July.

Means was originally from Minnesota, but lived off base with his wife at Camp Lejeune.

The family said funeral arrangements are pending.
