Family, friends of NC men killed in Orlando shooting say final goodbyes

Friends and family will say a final goodbye Wednesday afternoon to a Statesville man who was killed in the Orlando nightclub shooting.

Tevin Crosby, 25, who graduated from Iredell High School, visited his family in Statesville the day before he was killed.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Highland Church of Christ, followed by the funeral.

The funeral for Shane Tomlinson, a 33-year-old Concord man who also died in the Orlando shooting, will be held Friday.

Tomlinson's service is set for 11 a.m. at The Refuge Church in Kannapolis. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The Department of Justice promised Tuesday to open an assistance center for victims' families.

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch announced $1 million in federal emergency funding to help pay for law enforcement overtime and other investigative costs.

Police said the gunman expressed support for ISIS last week as he killed 49 people and hurt 53 others.
